My favorite TV show is “Seinfeld” and I have a short list of my favorite episodes, but if I had to pick one I think I would pick the one where the olympic runner came to America to stay with Jerry before running the marathon. “Hey, what’s that burning!?” “It’s my muffin! Oh, no, I set it for 20 seconds!” “That says 2 minutes!” and then Jean Paul looks over, “You mis-set the timer?” LOL. That was one of the funniest moments of the series to me.
My favorite drama series would be “Luther”. The season finale of season 2 was the best finale I’ve seen of any show, ever.

I’m ashamed to say I never really got into Seinfeld. What I’ve seen of it I like a lot. I’m not doubting the brilliance of the writing. The neurotic characters were always a little off putting to me.
I’m a big fan of The Wire. Because of Idris Elba, I’ve had my eye on Luther for a while. I might have to make it more of a priority now. Thanks!

Okay, I have not watched The Wire, but I have it on DVD, but have not watched yet b/c I haven’t had the time to devote to watching it marathon style. I need to watch that one soon along with The Shield and Brotherhood. I am also waiting until Breaking Bad wraps so I can watch that marathon style (so far have only seen the pilot and decided to put it on hold).
Yes, “Luther” is only 10 episodes, so you can watch it fast! You are going to love it. The season finale of season 2 is the most amazing thing I have ever seen on TV! Just gives me chills any time I even think about it! In fact I am going to watch it again this week. 🙂

I can’t vouch for Brotherhood myself, though a friend of mine whose opinion I trust gives it really high praise. As far as The Wire, The Shield and Breaking Bad. Whew. You are in for some truly incredible television. Breaking Bad is the best thing on TV right now (with Boardwalk Empire a close second). I’m planning on rewatching it before the final episodes premiere in August. I really can’t wait.
I know it sounds cliche and pretentious, but I honestly haven’t found anything that can dethrone The Wire as the best show I’ve ever seen. It’s fascinating, eye opening and unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The socioeconomic commentary is genius and really thought provoking. I can’t speak highly enough about it.
The Shield is a phenomenal example of how to create and sustain an antihero-centric plot. It’s brutal, despicable and the perfect balance of serialized and episodic television. I love it.
You have definitely piqued my interest in Luther. I’ll try to get to it soon. I’m really excited for it.

Also, have you seen “Damages”? Definitely one of my top favorite drama/thrillers. I have seen the first few episodes of “The Shield” which I think is really good – but I have a hard time believing it is better than “Damages”. After “Luther” you need to check out Damages. 🙂

I haven’t seen Damages but I’ll definitely add it to my massive to-watch list. lol. I’ll go in with an open mind but it’ll be hard to top The Shield, honestly. Thanks for the recommendation.

I think the reason I compare The Shield and Damages is b/c of Glenn Close; she is sooooo good in Damages!! 🙂

There was a UK show called Ultraviolet, which was an amazing mini about vampires.

And here I thought Ultraviolet was just a horrible digital movie collection system. Ha.
I’ll have to check it out. Funny enough, I’ve had a bit of a hankering for vampire stories lately.

Also, The Phoenix from the late 70’s early 80’s. Not the greatest show but I loved it.

Never heard of that one but looking it up on imdb makes me feel like it would have been up my alley. Shame.
