I really dropped the ball this weekend. I intended to write and post this as a Streaming Saturday but I ran out of time. Then on Sunday I wanted to write it but only after I posted my review of its predecessor, The Collector. I thought I could squeeze in my weekly TV write up first, but that ended up taking a lot of time so alas, it is Monday and here is my review/Streaming recommendation for 2012’s The Collection. Enjoy. The Collector is a movie that I have been meaning to watch for a while. I was really intrigued by the concept of the protagonist being a man breaking into a house, only to have to save the family from a sadistic killer. I was hopeful that it would lead to a bit more actual storytelling than we are used to in this genre.

What held me back from watching it, though, was the widespread opinion that it was simply a Saw rip-off. Well, I finally watched it last night. Read on to see what I thought and check out the Shocktober 2013 page of the blog for more Horror-related content. Continue reading
