Here’s the latest ep of The Obsessive Viewer Podcast! I’m really excited about this episode. This week we had an in-studio guest for the first time since our friend Greg helped us kick off the podcast in June! Our guest was Chase Kahlo, one of the guys behind Indy PopCon (the brand new pop culture convention coming to Indianapolis in May 2014).

We had so much fun recording with Chase and we’ll probably have him back as the convention nears. And when I say he’s our first “in-studio” guest, I mean he’s our first guest in the makeshift studio I converted my brother’s sunroom into and use to record in while he’s at work. But all the same, it’s a great episode and I hope you like it. Continue reading

Here’s the latest ep of The Obsessive Viewer Podcast! We were originally going to have Chris Spangle from We Are Libertarians on to discuss the Fall TV season but due to technical issues on our end, we had to bump him to next week.

Instead, we introduced a new concept to the show that we look forward to doing once per season. We were flying by the seat of our pants while we figured out, on the air, how to do it. Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun recording it and we hope you enjoy listening to it!

Set in Earth’s future, young Ender Wiggin is trained and groomed to become the leader of Earth’s military attack against the alien “Buggers.” Ender is put through a series of tests that include several intense battles in zero gravity rooms. Ender’s final test is to display his tactical genius in a simulation against the Buggers, but is it really just a game? Writer’s note: Ender’s Game has been published in several different editions with more covers than I can count. The picture above is the version of the cover of the Ender’s Game book that I read. Trailer Tuesday: Ender’s Game (2013)

Taking a break from House of Cards (that show is incredible, by the way) to deliver a regrettably late Trailer Tuesday.

Just released today is the first trailer for the highly anticipated Ender’s Game. I’ve never read the books but I have friends who have and swear by it. The trailer is replete with special effects and the movie is rounded out by a very impressive cast.

2013 is truly becoming the “year of Sci-Fi” and I love it. Ender’s game is set for a November release. I am going to read the books before I see it. I can’t wait. View the trailer below… Continue reading
