Here’s the latest ep of The Obsessive Viewer Podcast! Thankfully our equipment held together for this recording session! So we’re back to decent sound quality!
This week we discussed some of our least favorite episodes from some of our favorite shows. It was a really good discussion and there’s even a good Lost tangent in there for good measure. Hope you enjoy.

I’ve been really lagging behind on these TV updates, not to mention the blog as a whole. I apologize for that. I’m hopeful that things will get back to normal soon. And I hope that I’ll get back into the swing of my TV watching habits. I mean, look at this, I watched 11 episodes of television in a two-week period. That’s really unacceptable.
In the interest of getting back into the swing of things, I’m streamlining this feature of the blog and not listing watch dates and airdates. So here’s my breakdown of the TV I watched in the last couple weeks. Continue reading

Yikes. I did not watch hardly any TV this week. This is highly unusual for me. I should explain that I had a very busy week and Shocktober viewings took precedence over television. As a result, I watched three things. Read my thoughts below and prepare yourselves for a much longer entry next weekend seeing as I will have plenty of catching up to do this week. Continue reading

Tonight my pick for television’s most consistently funny sitcom begins its final season. The 9th season of CBS’s How I Met Your Mother will see vast changes to the storytelling structure of the show. The entire season will take place over one weekend with various jumps forwards and backwards in time. Adding to the changes, we now have the Mother cast and ready to win the hearts of the HIMYM fan base and Ted.
It’s going to be sad to see HIMYM take its final bow, but it’s also a time to celebrate. In honor of tonight’s premiere, I have compiled a list of my favorite HIMYM episodes. I was originally going to confine myself to a ten-episode list but after 8 seasons that is just impossible. Instead, I’ve chosen two episodes from each season to put into the pantheon of great sitcom episodes.
You can read my list below. It would have been far too difficult to rank these episodes, so for the sake of my sanity I’m presenting them in chronological order.
Let me know what episodes you would include and why in the comments below or on Twitter @ObsessiveViewer. You can also like the blog on Facebook and subscribe to the podcast on iTunes. Continue reading

I’m hastily writing this at 2am after having just watched the How I Met Your Mother season 8 finale. I wrote about HIMYM not too long ago, so I wasn’t really planning on writing a postseason wrap up of it. But some interesting things happened tonight, both on and off the screen, and I feel like commenting on it. (SPOILERS AHEAD)… Continue reading

I’ve been behind on all the TV shows I watch, which is why I’ve been blogging mostly about movies. But now I’m getting through my backlog and I have a lot to say. First up, How I Met Your Mother. (Contains spoilers up to S08E18 – Weekend at Barney’s)
