The trailer evoked memories of Assault on Precinct 13 (oddly also starring Hawke). I haven’t seen it in years (I’ve never even seen the original Carpenter movie, actually). But I remember liking the movie much more than I expected to. So I’m hoping The Purge can give me a similar reaction. The trailer looks promising enough. We’ll have to see when the movie releases on May 31st.
