I hadn’t heard about The Family until I just saw it featured on IMDb. Luc Besson wrote and directed this movie about a mafia family getting relocated to Normandy, France as part of the witness protection plan. The family soon finds that their old habits are hard to leave behind.
The formula has been done a million times before. In all honesty, this movie shouldn’t be as appealing as it is solely based on the tired premise. But the trailer has a certain quality to it that makes it look like it’ll be an awesome experience. The impressive cast and Besson’s name being attached to it also helps prevent me from completely writing it off.
As of now, I would say I’m curious. The book only has one review on Amazon and it isn’t the most favorable. You can view the trailer below. And follow me on Twitter @ObsessiveViewer and like the blog on Facebook.
