Honestly, at this point who hasn’t seen The Avengers? I could spend a lot of time selling my readers on why they should stream this but everyone has seen it. If you somehow missed it and are looking for a fun superhero summer blockbuster look no further. The Avengers is the perfect summer action movie.
It pulls together 4 iconic characters who all benefit from 5 movies of superhero introductions. This gives Whedon the room to pen one of the sharpest superhero scripts ever written. The characters have great chemistry with their various personality clashes. The villain is formidable (though his motives and the alien army he uses is a little forgettable).
The Avengers is a movie that successfully exceeded the insane hype I had built up for it over the course of 4 years and 5 movies. You’ll enjoy every minute of the brisk 2.5 hour runtime.

Good review Matt. It’s a great movie, but still not my favorite superhero flick of 2012. That honor is bestowed onto the final chapter of that dude who dresses like a bat.

Thanks Dan! Yeah, I’m always careful with my phrasing. I consider Avengers to be a perfect summer blockbuster but I think TDKR is the better overall movie. Both are great movies.
