This week’s streaming saturday is a movie I haven’t seen in a while. In & Out is Frank Oz’s fun, satirical comedy about what happens when a small town teacher is outed as gay on national television by a former student (Matt Dillon) accepting an Academy Award. Kevin Kline carries the movie as English teacher Howard Brackett. After the Oscars, a spotlight is put on Howard as news descends upon his small town. With his wedding to Emily (Joan Cusack) fast approaching, Howard decides to butch up.
The movie isn’t a bad way to spend 90 minutes of your time. It’s a light-hearted take on the more serious topics of sexual identity and social tolerance.
