This week’s Trailer Tuesday is the new Aubrey Plaza coming-of-age vehicle The To Do List. Written and directed by newcomer Maggie Carey, The To Do List is about recent high school graduate Brandy Klark (Plaza) and her quest to lose her virginity by college. It’s a pretty straightforward premise but the trailer promises a fun and possibly heartwarming experience.

I’m a sucker for coming of age teen movies (see last week’s The Spectacular Now trailer). I also think Aubrey Plaza is on the cusp of real stardom. At least I hope so. I am a big fan of her from Parks and Recreation and thought she did a good job in DERRICK Comedy’s movie Mystery Team. I think The To Do List could be a good opportunity for her star to rise.

Its release date is listed for this Friday. I’m not sure if it’s a limited release of a wide one. I hope it’s the latter because I will definitely see it this weekend if it’s playing near me.

Regardless of my fandom for Plaza, the supporting cast is positively stacked with talent. The cast list alone is enough to get me to buy a ticket.
