Here’s the latest ep of The Obsessive Viewer Podcast! Thankfully our equipment held together for this recording session! So we’re back to decent sound quality!

This week we discussed some of our least favorite episodes from some of our favorite shows. It was a really good discussion and there’s even a good Lost tangent in there for good measure. Hope you enjoy.

Bond 50: Part VI – Moonraker (1979) & For Your Eyes Only (1981)

Part6

Here it is (FINALLY), Part VI of my 12-part review of the James Bond 50th Anniversary blu-ray box set. I apologize for the extreme lateness for this entry. I actually watched these movies a while ago and just now got around to writing them up. I just got busy with other things. I’ll do better in the future.

With this entry in the series, I have officially reached the halfway point of my journey through the James Bond franchise. As you’ll see below, this pairing of Moonraker and For Your Eyes Only carried with it both good and bad things. Yet I still enjoyed myself and I hope you enjoy reading my thoughts on them.

Of course, you can read my past Bond 50 posts here. And follow me around the internet with the links below.

This week was huge for The Obsessive Viewer Podcast. For starters, I edited this week’s episode in a new program that is going to be far less problematic than Garageband and, as I type this, I’m expecting some sweet new podcasting equipment to be delivered. But most exciting is the fact that we signed up for IndyPopCon. We’ll have more information down the road but, for now, we’re very excited.

This week is Space Movies Part 1! I hope you like it.

And be sure to check out PodcastLand.com for a very comprehensive collection of podcasts you can listen to. While you’re there, vote for us for Podcast of the Month! It’s simple and would mean a lot to us. Continue reading

The Month in Movies: August 2013

August was a slow month for me when it comes to my movie watching. Historically speaking, it’s a slow month for me anyways. In years past I had the start of school drastically cutting back my numbers. Not to mention, I also have the beginning of the fall TV season to vie for my attention.

So August is always a slow month. However, this year I managed to squeeze in 17 movies. I would say that the absence of school in my life may have contributed to it, but this was my best August since 2008. I think 2008 may have actually been the last August I was in school. I’m not sure.

In any case, here are the best and worst of my movies watched in August 2013. Continue reading

The Month in Movies: June 2013

I had a pretty good June as far as movie-watching is concerned. I didn’t break any records (2008 – 25 viewings) but I did triple my numbers from last year’s paltry 6 viewings. I made good progress in my Bond set and managed some memorable theater viewings. All in all not a bad month. You can see the full chronological list of my June viewings here. Continue reading

Bond 50: Part IV – Diamonds Are Forever (1971) & Live and Let Die (1973)

Part4

I’m finally back into the swing of reviewing my Bond box set. I feared for a minute that I would go all of June without posting an installment in my 12-part Blu-Ray review of the Bond 50th Anniversary Set. But I made it, here in the eleventh hour.

Let me know what you think of these two entries in the franchise by commenting below. You can also follow me on Twitter @ObsessiveViewer and like The Obsessive Viewer on Facebook. For good measure, check out The Obsessive Viewer Podcast and subscribe to it on iTunes. Now that that’s out of the way, here’s Part IV… Continue reading

Bond 50: Part III – You Only Live Twice (1967) & On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969)

Part3

Here’s Part three of my 12-part series on the Bond franchise and Blu-Ray collection. This was the first time in the set that the Bond actor switched. It was interesting to see someone other than Connery take the role. Read my thoughts on the two Bond movies and actors below…

Part2

It’s been a while since I cracked open my Bond set. I really wanted to get into it but other things started occupying my time. Hopefully I’ll be more diligent with my ongoing review. For now, however, enjoy Part two of my 12-part series on the Bond franchise and Blu-Ray collection.

Bond 50: Part I – Dr. No (1962) & From Russia With Love (1963)

Part1

A couple weeks have passed since I impulsively bought the Bond 50th Anniversary Blu-Ray Collection. Last weekend I decided to finally break it out and find out if it was worth the hefty $150 price tag.

So here is part one of my planned 12-part series on the Bond movies and blu-ray set. I’m not sticking to any specific time table for this, but I have a separate page for the series so the posts will be easy to find. So let’s get to Dr. No and From Russia With Love, shall we?

Bond 50: Introduction – The Complete Blu-Ray Collection Unboxing

The James Bond 50th anniversary Bluray set is mine after a hastily spent $150 at Best Buy. Since I’ve only seen 7 of the 23 Bond movies, I find it a little hard to justify buying it. Nonetheless, I’m really happy I got it.

My plan is to go through the set and watch them at my own pace. I hope to finish them all by December and plan to blog all about it along the way. So this is my first of maybe a dozen or so entries about everyone’s favorite British spy. I give you, the unboxing…
